Competitive Teams

We offer girls and boys USAG competitive team programs for the advanced gymnast: girls and boys Junior Olympic, and girls Xcel. The primary differences are listed below:

Girls Junior Olympic - is the traditional developmental competitive program determined by USA Gymnastics. This program progresses from entry-level through college and elite-level gymnastics. Our JO program trains 9-20 hours weekly, depending on gymnastics level. The girls JO team competes 6 meets in the regular season.

Girls Xcel - is a recreational, yet competitition-based program for gymnasts that have attained certain skill levels, as determined by USA Gymnastics. Our Xcel program trains 9 hours weekly, and competes 3 meets in the regular season.

Boys Junior Olympic - is also the traditional developmental competitive program, training entry-level through college and elite-level, as determined by USA Gymnastics. It is our newest competition program, and currently our JO boys train 4 hours weekly, and competes 3 meets in the regular season.

Entry into the DTG competitive program is via current USAG competitive gymnast membeship, or class move-up. In addition, all elgible gymnasts will complete an evaluation by a DTG coach, to determine placement.

The team schedule:

Girls Junior Olympic workout times start at 9-12 hours a week and move up to 15-20 hours a week as the gymnast progresses. The Junior Olympic gymnast competes approximately 6 meets a year.

Xcel workout times are 9 hours a week. The Xcel gymnast competes approximately 3 meets a year.

Boys JO workout times are currently 4 hours a week, and compete 3 meets a year.
